This is a high standard conversion of the Victorian Barns
incorporating many of the original features including exposed beams.
Blackadon Barns overlook the coast at Mothecombe and Buzzard cottage
has views up to Western Beacon on the southern slopes of Dartmoor.
Our guests have described Buzzard cottage as very spacious, yet
cosy. The lounge has ample comfortable seating, a Colour TV with a
Sky Digi Box & DVD, and a stereo with a CD/cassette player. The
dining area comfortably seats 17 and has ample space for further
tables to cater for those special occasions.
The fully equipped kitchen includes 2 large ovens with separate
grills, 8 gas rings, 2 large refrigerators, a freezer , a microwave
and a dishwasher with ample crockery, cutlery, etc.
The bedroom accommodation comprises an en-suite double bedroom
(shower & basin and W.C), a double bedroom with a wet room suitable
for wheelchairs, two twin rooms with en-suite facilities and an
en-suite family room with a double bed and a mezzanine containing 3
single beds. There is a further twin bedroom up a separate
staircase, a bunk area and a bathroom with a bath and a separate
shower.
A combination gas-fired boiler provides instant hot water and
radiator central heating and an energy-efficient heat exchanger
removes air from the bathrooms and kitchen transferring heat to
fresh air on its way to the lounge and bedrooms.
We do ask that there is no smoking in the cottage. There is a
separate area for laundry. All fuel & bed linen are included. We ask
if guests could bring their own towels. In the guest information
booklet there are details of the area around the cottage and
suggestions of local attractions.
